Blacksea Liquid Shrimp is a type of macroscopic crustacean. Although commonly called “shrimp,” they are not actually true shrimp. The females carry their eggs in pouches at the base of their legs, similar to a sac, which is why they are also known as Opossum Shrimp. They come in various sizes as they grow, but they typically reach only about one inch. Most shrimp found in the market, whether frozen or live, are likely small in size. These creatures naturally live in offshore Arctic waters but can also be found in northern freshwater lakes. Mysis shrimp are rich in protein and contain many beneficial nutrients including omega-3 fatty acids, selenium, vitamin B12, iron, zinc, and iodine.
